PKKKCIPSince established, Ipoh Handicap Association has taken the initiative to move with the times to bring a better living for people with disabilities. We concern about our member welfare, including hostel, meals, medical and the skill training and etc, hopefully this will be a more complete support system to gear members towards the community environment.

"Ipoh Welfare Handicap Association" is a self-help organization of people with disabilities. It was established since November 16, 1999 located at Kampar Road, Ipoh, Perak. The past 8 years, our society members, mostly come from poor and single-parent family, moreover mostly all is the low educational and low-income family.

The committee with exhaust ability had build a better living environment for the people who disabilities. Together with the support of the community, our centre is able to add in more facilities to our members to having and enjoy it like in a big family feeling. And from this point onwards the staff and committee started can feel the cheerfulness of the members.

"Ipoh Handicap Welfare Association" since established only has 4 members. However, the increasing total number of member recently had reach 58 people, the operation expenses been a question mark for the committee.

PKKKCIPIn order to reduce society burden, a recycling division has established on March 1, 2006. The respective patrol-recycling lorry will surround Perak area daily to collect recycling materials, books, newspapers, and etc to sell, as the funds received is for maintaining society's daily operating expenses.

Approximately 98% of our members do not have potential and lead a life of dignity within society. As a method for enriching the members' skills, the members currently work at the handicraft workshop at the society premise, and all materials are directly from the manufacturer that arranged by the committee. Wages received will directly be credited to the members' accounts.

Members had been increasing from day to day. On November, 2003, our committee had rent a single storey building in order to reduce insufficient environment issue of Kampar Road Branch. To solve the environment issue, and to provide a better environment for the members, the society with an objective "Build a new building" as the society had purchase a piece of land at Pasir Pinji, Ipoh, Perak on this beginning of year. And so on, the society has to prepare to raise fund for the construction purpose.

PKKKCIPNowadays, approximately RM300,000.00 per annum to be used for our society operating expenses, in addition building funds, therefore to support our financial burden, we launch some activities to raise fund, including the charity dinner, and etc. We hope will get warm response from the community.

"Ipoh Handicap Welfare Association" depends on the fund received by the community since few years ago, however, we hope that all community will continue to support us in term of material or financial way, as this will bring our members a great living standard and happiness future.
