Message from Ipoh Welfare Handicap Association Mr Cheong Kok Leong (Chairman)

"Ipoh Welfare Handicap Association" faces a high burden of financial since established year 1999. Lacks of resources generate limitation of intake of member and we face a high aware from the community. A new reform committee had take place by year 2004, with greater society management knowledge, planning had been make for rehabilitaton so that peple who disable might get the benefit.

For your knowledge, previously we just a common committee member, is difficulty for us to let go our reponsibility to the society, after new committee formed from the election, we have to bear responsibility to the society to enrich long-term benefit and welfare from a past weak society.

From 2004 onwards, as newborn committee taken place, to expand our society welfare and benefit, our primary duty to raise fund from community to fulfil member demand, seeking professional help e.g. free monthly consultation and treatment for the member.

With a long term planning and strategies, our society purchase a piece of 9 hectares land located at Pasir Pinji to build up a duoble storey building that will be able ot increase our enrolment with approximately of 100 members and give more members the opportunities and help they need to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Although, since 2004 onwards, we continuous to work together to enrich our society welfare, however, I will like to take note it has been a very exciting time and we know that within this 7 years "Ipoh Welfare Handicap Association" would not have been able to achieve as much as it had today without the community's support of our work. From the past onwards, to meet the increasing number and changing needs of our members, the committee not only contribute their professional knowledge but also by their financial ability.

To build a new 1 double storey building for our society is 1 of our organization long-term strategies. As I want to said, "Will all loves a magic wand to be waved for society, that not going to happen, but the good news is that community can make the magic in our members' lives". Once again, I wish to continuous seeking support and donation from community to make the project run smoothly to enable our members to enjoy the benefit with greater environment.
